چکیده
Abstract The thick Lake Pannon sedimentary record provides insights into the downdip and lateral development of stratigraphic surfaces through analysis basin-scale clinoform progradation. architecture from eastern part Drava Basin (Pannonian System) was interpreted to reflect base-level changes. A major downlap surface as a flooding event followed by rejuvenation slope progradation recognized on 2D seismic sections. Detailed 3D interpretation combined with well data revealed that large sigmoidal overlying small oblique sets one only apparently produce geometry maximum surface. Instead, mapping influence two competing systems arriving north northwest. Lateral switching sediment input, similar many recent deltaic systems. e.g., Danube Po rivers led variability surfaces, lithology, thickness, which resulted in non-uniform shelf-edge migration. Late Miocene–Pliocene Paleoclimatic Evolution Documented by Terrestrial Mollusk Populations in the Western Chinese Loess Plateau
The Neogene eolian deposits in the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP) are one of the most useful continental deposits for understanding climatic changes. To decipher Late Neogene paleoclimatic changes in the CLP, we present a terrestrial mollusk record spanning the time interval between 7.1 and 3.5 Ma from the western CLP. The results indicate four stages of paleoclimatic evolution: From 7.1 to 6.2 Ma...
متن کاملA Late Miocene-Pliocene origin for the Central Himalayan inverted metamorphism
Perhaps the best known occurrence of an inverted metamorphic sequence is that found immediately beneath the Himalayan Main Central Thrust (MCT), generally thought to have been active during the Early Miocene. However, in situ 208Pb/ 232Th dating of monazite inclusions in garnet indicates that peak metamorphic recrystallization of the MCT footwall occurred in this portion of the central Himalaya...

Late Oligocene–Early Miocene paleosols of distal fluvial systems, Ebro Basin, Spain
The study of paleosols can be a vital tool in the paleoenvironmental interpretation of continental deposits because their physical and chemical characteristics are a reflection of variations in aspects of soil formation. Changes in paleosol characteristics can be used to determine the architecture and nature of parent material, paleosol maturity, topography, climate and soil-forming organisms (...
متن کاملFirst mammal fossil locality from the late Miocene of Zagros, western Iran
A new and the first mammal fossil locality from the Zagros Basin of Iran is reported here. The fossil locality, known as Dimeh, is located in the Lorestan province, west of Iran. The fauna includes abundant bovid cranial remains, mostly representing boselaphines and palaeoryxoids, as well as gazelles and spiral horned antelopes. Hipparionine horses similar to Hippotherium group are also represe...
